I am not perfect in cooking yet. I have started cooking almost everyday now and I think I am still going through the process of learning. Come and join me as I learn, cook and share my experience.

Bhindi Chicken

Bhindi Chicken

Bhindi (Okra) can be cooked with variations. You can cook it with chicken or meat, or for a vegetarian touch you can cook it without meat.

You need:

Bhindi (Okra)
Chicken (small pieces)
Tomatoes
Oil
Ginger Garlic Paste
Salt
Green Chillies
Onion
Red chilli/ Sookha dhania powder

Fry the Bhindi:
First, cut the bhindi into desired size pieces (you can choose to not cut it if they are small in size). Add oil in a frying pan and fry the bhindi along with two green chillies ( slit them open from the middle). This step is important to remove stickiness  from the bhindi. Remove the bhindi from oil once it starts to get brownish along with its edges. Keep it aside.

Chicken Preparation:
Now in the same oil, put chicken pieces and fry it for 2 minutes, then add ginger garlic paste. Let the chicken cook (so the uncooked chicken smell is removed). Now add finely sliced onion and tomatoes in the chicken. After 5 minutes add red chilli powder, sookha dhania powder and salt to taste. Do not add any water and let it cook with the water left by chicken and tomatoes. Cover the chicken and let it cook on medium heat.
Combine:
Once the chicken is done and the oil is separated from the gravy, add the fried bhindies along with the green chillies. Now cover it and cook on low heat. This step is important so that both things combine their flavour together and do not taste seperate from each other. Once the bhindi is covered well with the chicken masala and is soft, remove it from the stove and it is ready to serve.
